Blackbird: Legacy of Innovation
2018This feature documentary shares the history of the SR-71 Blackbird, commissioned by the CIA, and includes testimonials from pilots who have had the unique privilege of flying the fastest plane in the world. It aired nationwide on PBS and was distributed by American Public Television until 2022. It is now available on Amazon, AppleTV and Google/YouTube. It was nominated for Outstanding Historical Documentary and won the Capital Emmy for Outstanding Photography. Stream the full documentary here.
The Art Scene
2019-2020This 13-episode series aired on VPM PBS and earned seven regional Emmy nominations. The Art Scene was a magazine style hosted show that celebrated the people and organizations that create art and change lives. The segment about the Rumors of War sculpture unveiling in Times Square won the Capital Emmy. Stream episodes here.
Aged Out: Finding Home
2020Aged Out: Finding Home is about the struggles of youth who age out of foster care in Virginia without finding a permanent place to call home. This feature documentary follows the lives of four youth in The Possibilities Project (now called My Path Forward), a privately funded program of Children's Home Society of Virginia and the Better Housing Coalition which provides 360-degree supportive services and life skills to this vulnerable population. The doc was broadcast on VPM PBS with public support from Governor Ralph Northam's office and Pam was nominated for Outstanding Director.
Mending Walls: The Documentary
2021Mending Walls: The Documentary shows the journey of 30 artists that participated in the public art project "Mending Walls RVA" in the summer of 2020. Through real-time footage and testimonial, the documentary reveals how the artists got to know each other through their uncomfortable conversations about race, status and experiences, how they created their mural concepts to reflect those conversations and how working together ultimately opened their eyes and their hearts to the differences between all of us. It currently airs nationwide on PBS and is distributed by American Public Television. This doc won the Capital Emmy for Outstanding Long Form Programming in Diversity and Inclusion. 2023Poetry is the art of getting what's in your heart to the page. Spoken word is the art of getting it from the page to the stage. A poetry slam is when spoken word artists put it all on the line to see who's the best at expressing their hearts and minds. Richmond's first Poet Laureate, educator and performer Roscoe Burnems invites some of the best slam poets in the region to perform on a stage in Richmond, VA and share their innermost thoughts on love, loss, trauma and pain. This production won three Telly awards for TV, Culture & Lifestyle and Entertainment, TV Shows.
